For comfort on the sling, you should wear form-fitting clothing that covers your underarms and knees (for example, a form fitting t-shirt and leggings), no shoes required.

Please don’t wear any jewelry or belts, no sharp finger or toenails, and no hand lotion. For hygiene purposes we ask that you bring your own yoga mat. We do have spare mats for first time students.

As with your regular practice, it is advised to not have a heavy meal at least 2 hours prior to class.

Try to hydrate well before class as drinking during class may cause discomfort while inverting.

Benefits

  • Using the sling forces the core muscles to work
  • Increased upper body strength and tone
  • Reduced spinal compression during backbends
  • Hold challenging yoga poses and inversions for longer and correctly with the support of the sling
  • Stretch further and deeper with the aid of the sling
  • Decompression of joints and spine while aligning the vertebrae without the strain that gravity causes
